A Look at the Officially Licensed Warner Bros. Super Girl Skins for PS4 and Xbox One

In 2017, peripheral manufacturer Controller Gear released a line of officially licensed Warner Bros. skins for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, themed around the DC Comics character Super Girl. The decals, based on the popular television series, appeared on retailers like Amazon, offering fans a way to customize their consoles and controllers with five distinct designs.

The products were made from premium 3M vinyl, designed for a bubble-free application and clean, residue-free removal. This allowed users to apply and swap designs without damaging the surface of their hardware.

PlayStation 4 Skins

For the PlayStation 4, Controller Gear offered a comprehensive collection. Owners could purchase full skins that covered the top and front panels of the original PS4 console model. In addition, separate packages were available for the DualShock 4 controller. These controller sets also included a matching skin for a licensed charging stand, creating a unified look for a gaming setup.

Five unique artistic themes were available across the PS4 product line:

• Cape: This design focused on Super Girl in a powerful pose, with her iconic red cape flowing prominently. The artwork emphasized the classic red and blue of her costume, with the golden ‘S’ shield as a central element.

• Suit: This minimalist design centered entirely on the Super Girl costume. It featured a close-up texture of the suit’s fabric and a large, bold rendering of the ‘S’ shield, making it an instantly recognizable and iconic choice.

Each of these five designs was available as both a full PS4 console wrap and as a set for the DualShock 4 controller and stand.

Xbox One Controller Skins

The Super Girl collection for Xbox One was more limited in scope, focusing exclusively on skins for the standard Xbox One wireless controller. While no full console wraps for the Xbox One were part of these initial listings, controller skins were offered in the same five designs available for the PlayStation 4.

The adaptation of the artwork to the Xbox One controller’s shape placed key visual elements across the face of the peripheral. The Portrait and Suit designs centered the ‘S’ shield and character art around the central Xbox button and D-pad, while the more expansive City and Flying High scenes spread across the controller’s grips.

The five available themes were:
