Game Idealist is a static website. It sets no tracking cookies, runs no advertising scripts and loads no third-party analytics. This page describes the little that does happen.
Server logs
The hosting infrastructure records standard access logs (IP address, requested address, browser identification, time) to keep the site running and to detect abuse. Logs are kept for a limited period and are not used to build profiles.
Storage planner
The storage planner keeps the list of games you select in your browser's local storage so that it is still there when you return. Nothing is sent to the site; clearing your browser data removes the list.
Search
Site search runs in your browser against an index downloaded with the page. Search terms are not transmitted or stored.
Outbound links
Links to platform holders, manufacturers and stores lead to sites with their own privacy practices. Game Idealist has no affiliate relationships and receives no information about what you do after following a link.
Embedded content and fonts
Fonts are served from this site's own hosting, not from a third-party font service, so no request leaves the site when a page loads. Charts are inline SVG. The site embeds no videos, social widgets or comment systems, which means no third party sets cookies through Game Idealist.
Children
The site is a reference about console hardware and games and collects nothing from anyone, so there is no age gate and no data about children to hold. Parents who want a message deleted that a child sent can ask through the contact address like anyone else.
Hosting location
The site is served through a content-delivery network with edge locations worldwide; the access logs mentioned above are held by the hosting provider under its own retention rules, which are shorter than a year.
Your rights
Because the site stores no personal data beyond the server logs and the messages you send, there is little to request; if you want the messages you sent deleted or a copy of what is held, ask through the contact address and it will be done within a month.

Messages sent to the contact address are kept as long as needed to answer them. Questions about this policy go to the same address on the contact page.

Does Game Idealist use cookies?
No cookies are set by the site. The storage planner uses the browser's local storage to remember your list, which stays on your device and is never transmitted; clearing site data in your browser removes it.
Is there analytics or tracking on the site?
No. There is no analytics script, no advertising script and no tracking pixel. The only record of a visit is the hosting infrastructure's standard access log, kept for a limited period for security and operations.
What happens to the data I put into the storage planner?
It stays in your browser. The planner is client-side; the list of games you pick is saved in local storage so it is there when you return, and nothing about it reaches the site.
How can I have my messages deleted?
Write to the contact address and ask. Messages are kept only as long as needed to answer them and are deleted on request within a month.
