A game console, a bare M.2 SSD and a controller laid out on a dark surface under a single green rim light

Corrections, games to add, error codes that deserve a page, hardware that belongs in a table: all of it goes to [email protected].

What helps

For a file size, the platform and a link to the store listing. For an error code, the console model, the code as displayed and what was happening when it appeared. For hardware, the exact model name and, for SSDs, whether the heatsink is the manufacturer's or added.

What the site does not do

The site publishes no reviews on request and carries no sponsored placements. Hardware and games are added because readers ask about them or because store data surfaces them, not because a manufacturer does.

What not to send

Personal data beyond an email address is not needed and is better left out; console serial numbers, account names and payment details play no part in a correction or a request. Screenshots are welcome for error codes because they show the exact string the console displayed, and a photo of a drive's label settles most SSD questions faster than a description of it.

Corrections policy

A correction that changes a figure is applied to the page and the page's updated date moves; a correction that changes a recommendation in a guide is noted in the text so readers who saw the earlier version understand what changed. Figures that cannot be confirmed against a store listing, a support page or a manufacturer specification are not changed on request alone, however plausible the request.

Response times

Corrections with a source are usually applied within a few days; a game with a store listing is added at the next data refresh; an error code goes up once its fix steps are documented, which can take longer because the page is only worth publishing with them. Messages that ask for troubleshooting of a specific console get a pointer to the relevant code page rather than individual support, which the site is not set up to provide.

Before you write

How do I report a wrong file size?

Send the game, the platform and a link to the store listing showing the current figure. The database records store figures with a date, so a listing that changed after the last check is the usual explanation and the fix is a refresh.

Can I ask for help with a specific error code?

The code pages are the help: each lists the meaning and the fix steps in order. If a code has no page yet, send the code, the console model and what was happening, and it goes on the list once a documented fix exists.

Can I suggest hardware for the compatibility tables?

Yes. Include the exact model name and, for SSDs, whether the heatsink is the manufacturer's or added. Products are added when a manufacturer page states the specifications the table needs.

Does Game Idealist answer press or partnership requests?

Press questions about the data are welcome. Partnership, sponsorship and affiliate proposals are declined; the site carries none of them.
