Halo 5: Guardians McFarlane Action Figures Included In-Game DLC

McFarlane Toys launched its first series of action figures based on the then-upcoming game Halo 5: Guardians. Product listings on Amazon detailed the initial lineup, which consisted of six figures: Master Chief, Spartan Athlon, Spartan Fred, Spartan Kelly, Spartan Locke, and Spartan Tanaka. Each collectible came with a code to unlock downloadable content within the game itself.

The Series 1 Lineup

• Master Chief: The iconic hero of the series, featured in his updated Mark VI Mjolnir armor from the game. He came equipped with an Assault Rifle.

• Spartan Fred and Spartan Kelly: Two members of Master Chief’s legendary Blue Team. Their inclusion was significant, as Halo 5 marked their first major appearance in a Halo game alongside their leader. Fred came with a DMR, while Kelly was equipped with a custom Shotgun.
• Spartan Tanaka: A member of Spartan Locke’s Fireteam Osiris, rounding out the representation of the game’s primary factions. Her figure also included a DMR.
• Spartan Athlon: This figure featured the Athlon armor, a set available in the game’s multiplayer modes. It represented the player’s own customizable Spartan and came with an SMG.

Each figure in the series stood approximately six inches tall and featured around 25 points of articulation. This design allowed for a wide range of poses for display. McFarlane Toys modeled the armor and weapons directly from the game’s digital assets to ensure a high degree of accuracy and detail.

The most notable feature was the inclusion of a DLC code with every figure. While the product listings confirmed the existence of this bonus in-game content, they did not specify what the unlocks were.
