Doug Chiang, the concept artist working on the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens, was one of the guests in the Star Wars Battlefront panel that occurred during the Star Wars Celebration live stream event.
He first talked about working with DICE in the videogame, saying that it has been “absolutely amazing.” Doug Chiang then mentioned that the development team is comparable to some of the top talents he has worked with in the film industry. He also said that it was fun seeing a different group doing a different take of Star Wars and be at the same level of quality as the movies.
The concept artist also talked a little bit about visiting the studio and playing a demo. He was impressed seeing the environments (Endor, Hoth and parts of Echo Base were specially mentioned) from the movies come to life in the videogame as you can actually wander around the locations.
Star Wars Battlefront is coming out on November 17 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. The Star Wars: The Force Awakens will officially hit theaters on December 18. As a special tie-in, Electronic Arts will be releasing the Battle of Jakku pack. Those who reserve the game will get the expansion one week earlier than anyone else on December 1.
