star-wars-battlefront-1In a press release sent to us, Sigurlina Ingvarsdottir commented on the recent release date announcements for Star Wars Battlefront (which is available for preorder right now with this page on Amazon). The senior producer of the project first stated that the developers of DICE are big fans of the Star Wars universe, adding that it is an honor to be working on the videogame.

She then revealed that the development team is planning to use knowledge shared by Lucasfilm, in addition to their own passion and talent, in order to create an “amazing game” that will capture the imagination of the epic battles you see in the Star Wars movies. You can find her full comments below:

Like so many others around the world, everyone at DICE is a tremendous fan of the Star Wars universe. To be working on a Star Wars project and knowing we are helping to represent the universe we love to our generation and a legion of new Star Wars fans is truly an honor. Thanks to the access and knowledge shared with us by Lucasfilm, and the passion and talent of our team, we plan to deliver an amazing game that puts you right in the middle of the Star Wars battles you always imagined playing.

If you haven’t heard already, the Star Wars Battlefront will let you battle it out on foot, in ground vehicles and through the air with spaceships. The game will support up to 40 players online in addition to switchable first and third person perspectives. Last but not least, iconic characters such as Boba Fett and Darth Vader are playable as well.

The Star Wars Battlefront release date is set for the 17th of November, around a month before the theatrical release of the Star Wars The Force Awakens movie.
