2020 Buyer’s Guide: PC, PS4 and Xbox One Fighting Sticks for SoulCalibur VI

SoulCalibur VI is the next big fighting game coming to the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. As with most titles in the genres, a lot of players prefer using an arcade stick over a regular gamepad. So what are the best fight sticks to check out in 2020 for the sixth mainline installment of the SoulCalibur series as well as other fighting games such as Street Fighter V, Tekken 7 and other fighting games? You can find out in our latest buying guide below.

SoulCalibur VI Controls Scheme

Before we start, let’s talk a little bit about the controls in SoulCalibur 6. The game uses all four face buttons (A, B, X and Y on the Xbox One as well as X, Circle, Square and Triangle on the PlayStation 4) in addition to the four shoulder buttons (LB, LT, RB and RT on the Xbox One as well as L1, L2, R1 and R2 on PS4). Thus, it should work well with fighting sticks that have all eight action buttons via your right hand, leaving your left hand completely dedicated to joystick movement.

Inexpensive Options

You are looking for a cheaply priced, but still quality fight stick for SC6, then we have two recommendations that you should check out.

Hori Fighting Stick Mini 4

The first of which is the Hori Fighting Stick Mini 4. This product, which has been officially licensed by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 4 (as well as PC and PlayStation 3 if you are interested in those platforms as well), uses an eight button layout (featuring the X, Circle, Square, Triangle L1, L2, R1 and R2). It’s miniature size, measuring at around eight inches by six inches, makes it easy to transport while also providing enough room to rest your wrists during intense Soul Calibur 6 matches.

Mayflash F300 Arcade Fight Stick

If you are planning to play the Xbox One version of SCVI and/or want to use turbo, another relatively cheap fighting stick worth checking out is the Mayflash F300. Like the Hori Fighting Stick Mini 4, this product has eight action buttons. With that said, you will be able to use the turbo functionality on all of these inputs. Furthermore, you can also swap the joystick functionality to either the directional pad or left analog stick.

In addition to the Xbox One, the Mayflash F300 Arcade Fight Stick is also compatible with the Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. You can purchase it here.

The Hori Real Arcade Pro is built with arcade-authentic Hayabusa joystick and button pieces while also featuring the popular Noir eight-button layout. Players will also be able to use turbo mode as well as reassign buttons.

Fortunately for fans of the upcoming game, there are two special SoulCalibur VI editions of the Hori Real Arcade Pro. The PlayStation 4 version, which features artwork for several of the male characters, is officially licensed by Sony Interactive Entertainment and Bandai Namco. In addition to the PS4, it can also be used for the PC and PS3. You can purchase this version via this page.

The Xbox One version features artwork based of several of the female fighters in the game. The fighting stick, which has been officially licensed by Microsoft and Bandai Namco, also supports the PC and Xbox 360. You can but it with this link.

The product, which has been officially licensed by Sony Interactive Entertainment, features an eight button layout in addition to having anti-slip padding, 3.5mm headphone port and even a touch pad.

The Qanba Obsidian Joystick supports the PlayStation 4, PC in addition to the PlayStation 3. You can purchase it here.
