Turtle Beach has clarified some compatibility details regarding the upcoming Elite 800X gaming headset for the Xbox One. The company first confirmed that the product can also be used for the Xbox 360 and PC by utilizing the included digital optical cable. With that said, the microphone won’t be operable when used on the two other platforms:
@DaEagle07 You could connect the 800X to either PC or XB360 via optical and get game audio, but the mics are not compatible.

It also looks like the mic won’t be compatible when you used the Elite 800X on the PlayStation 4 as well (since different technology were used):
@the1jon Unfortunately no – the original Elite 800 is for PS4, while the Elite 800X is for Xbox One. Different tech for wireless chat

Instead, Turtle Beach suggests that customers to buy the Elite 800X for the Xbox One and the Elite 800 for the PlayStation 4 if they want the best gaming headset for each specific platform:
@Itz_Dk Our best PS4 headset is the Elite 800, while the best Xbox One headset will be the upcoming Elite 800X: http://t.co/fMD6fBlykX

The Elite 800 PS4 gaming headset is out now while the Elite 800X Xbox One headset is slated to come out later this month on the 22nd.
