The release for the Hori Fighting Commander 4 Controller has been delayed. Amazon has updated its listing for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 accessory, changing the release date from the previously listed April 30 to May 5. You can preorder the third-party pad on the retailer’s website via this page.
As you can see, the listing is designed for fighting games as it relocates the R1 and R2 shoulder buttons next to the regular face buttons. It also does not have any analog sticks and, instead, uses a rotatable directional pad that has customizable sensitivity. The internal rubber membranes of the controller has been improved from the previous iterations to be more accurate and add more durability.
The other features include a R/L toggle switch, asymmetrical form factor and wired connection. The pad has been officially license by Sony Computer Entertainment America for use with both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 consoles.
The Hori Fighting Commander 4 Controller should work best in 2D fighting games such as Guilty Gear Xrd Sign as well as the upcoming Mortal Kombat X. So, if you are serious about competitive fighters, you may want to check out the latest product from Hori when it launches on the 26th of May.
