Naoki Yoshida has commented on releasing the newly-available Heavensward expansion for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. In a press release sent to us, the producer and director behind the project first compared the Heavensward to being a “second season” to the MMORPG. The development team was able to create a “strong foundation” with the main game, which let them further build upon it with new content and gameplay. Check out his full comments on the release below:
FINAL FANTASY XIV: Heavensward marks the beginning of the second season of our journey through the vast FINAL FANTASY XIV universe. Having laid a strong foundation in A Realm Reborn®, we are extremely excited that Heavensward will build upon this with new and diverse gameplay and content that continue to be the hallmarks of the online FINAL FANTASY experience.
For the uninformed, Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward increases the level cap to 60 while adding a new player race (Au Ra) and three jobs (astrologian, machinist and ark knight). The new areas also come with new gear, raids, recipes in addition to beast tribes and primals (Vanu Vanu with Bismark and Gnath with Ravana).
Heavensward is available both as a standalone and as part of the bundle with A Realm Reborn. You can check out both on Amazon with the following links: Final Fantasy XIV: Online The Complete Experience and Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward.
