Dying Light producer talks maximizing the PS4, The Last of Us and more

dying-light_screenshot07In a live stream interview during PlayStation Experience, Tymon Smektala made some insightful comments about his upcoming game, Dying Light, which you can preorder right now with this link on Amazon. One of his statements came when a fan asked about how many zombies will be on screen at once. While he cannot give an exact answer due to how the game works, he did say that there will be “hundreds,” adding that the development team is going to push the PlayStation 4 to its maximum.

In terms of controller, the studio decide to keep things simple. Swiping the touchpad on the DualShock 4 in one direction will bring up a map while another direction should open the inventory. The light bar has also been synced with the in-game flashlight. Therefore, turning up the flashlight should increase the light intensity of the light bar of the controller.

Last but not least, Tymon Smektala also revealed that he and his team has played all types of zombie games. The one that stood out the most for him was The Last of Us, however, as he thought that the PlayStation exclusive set the bar very high for narrative in a videogame.

Dying Light is available for the PlayStation 4, plus the Xbox One and PC, on the 27th of January.
