The download size has been revealed by the Xbox Store shopping website for the Xbox One version of the upcoming Project CARS. The racing simulator will take up 18.13 GB of free space on Microsoft’s current-gen console. Of course, you can also purchase the physical version if you feel like getting a disc release instead of going digital for one reason or another, with this page on Amazon.
The size is surprisingly small for the amount of content the game contains. To compare, Forza Motorsport 5 takes up 50.54 GB while Forza Horizon 2 requires 38.21 GB. The Xbox One comes equipped with a 500 GB HDD. Not to mention that Microsoft allows gamers to add more storage through supported external hard drives.
Project CARS is notable in that the project was self-funded by the development team and the gaming community. Slightly Mad Studios is developing and publishing the racing simulator. To help with distribution, they also enlisted the help of Bandai Namco.
Project CARS will be released on the 12th of May in the North American region for the Xbox One in addition to the PlayStation 4 and PC platforms. The SteamOS and Wii U versions are expected to arrive later in 2015. The game will support both Oculus Rift and Project Morpheus VR headsets.
