Are the Dishonored 2 Limited and Premium Collector’s Editions worth buying?

The long awaited sequel to Dishonored will be coming out soon. If you are planning to pick up Dishonored 2, you will have two options at launch. So are the Limited and Premium Collector’s Editions worth purchasing? If you are having a hard time deciding, you can check out our buying guide below.

The Limited Edition is cheaper when compared to the Premium Collector’s Edition of Dishonored 2. You can check out the current price tags for both with the following links from Amazon: Limited Edition and Premium Collector’s Edition.

About Dishonored 2

Dishonored 2 takes place 15 years after the first game. The protagonist from the original title, Corvo Attano, will be returning as one of two playable characters. The other is Emily Kaldwin, the dethroned empress of Dunwall.

Emily has her own unique powers. For example, Domino connects several enemies together so that they will share the same fate while Doppelganger creates a clone of Emily to distract enemies. Far Reach is used to pull objects and enemies to her while Mesmerize puts targets in a sedation state. Last but not least, Shadow Walk allows her to turn to a stealthier form.

The first game is known for providing an open-ended approach to tackling missions. This concept has been further expanded in the sequel with two playable characters as well as new non-lethal attacks.

Needless to say, if you enjoyed Dishonored, you should end up enjoying Dishonored 2 as well.

Preorder Bonuses

If you are planning to buy Dishonored at or near the software product’s launch date, you should consider preordering the game as you will get some great bonuses for doing so.

The most notable extra is the digital version of Dishonored: Definitive Edition. In addition to enhanced graphics, the remastered port also comes with all the DLC packs of the first game: Dunwall City Trials, The Knife of Dunwall, The Brigmore Witches and Void Walker’s Arsenal. So, if you missed out on the first game and/or its expansions, you should consider reserving either the Limited Edition or Premium Collector’s Edition.

Not to mention that there are other extras as well. By preordering Dishonored 2, you will also get the Dishonored digital soundtrack in addition to the Imperial Assassin’s Pack. The latter includes the Antique Serkonan Guitar, Lore Book: A Musician’s Farewell, Duelist’s Luck Bonecharm, Void Favor Bonecharm  in addition to 500 coins that can be spent in the various illegal black market shops in the game.

Dishonored 2 Limited Edition

The limited edition comes with a physical copy of Dishonored 2 in addition to, if you decided to preorder in advance, the digital version of Dishonored: Definitive Edition, digital Dishonored soundtrack and Imperial Assassin’s Pack. Also included are full color prints issued by the Propaganda Office of Karnaca as well as Emily Kaldwin’s Ring Replica, which is stored inside a display box.

The centerpiece of the bundle, however, is the Corvo Attano’s Mask Replica. The mask measures at 13.5 inches in height, 6 inches in width as well as 5.5 inches in depth. The Dishonored 2 Limited Edition is worth purchasing, especially if you are new to the series as it comes with the digital remastered version of Dishonored, since it doesn’t cost any extra as long as  you preorder the game in advance.

With that said, the Dishonored 2 Premium Collector’s Edition does come with everything from the Limited Edition in addition to some enticing physical extras. Not to mention that it does not cost that much more when compared to the other option.

Bethesda Softworks will be releasing Dishonored 2 on the 11th of November for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.
