In Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae, there are several special weapons that you can find hidden across the massive region. If you managed to tracked them down, they will unlock flashy and powerful abilities that you can use for a limited time in battle. So where are these heirlooms located? Find out in our guide.
Note: It does not matter which order you find the Armiger Weapons as you will always get Aqesior first, followed by Secace, Galatine and, finally, Rhongomyniad. With that said, it is best to find the heirloom located near the Digythe Haven camping first before tackling the Fociaugh Cavern. Otherwise, you may have a more difficult time getting through the troublesome battles in the cave.
Armiger Weapon #1: Aqesior
Location: Noctis already has the Aqesior equipped at the beginning of the demo. With that said, you won’t be able to use the special abilities from the sword until you find the Galatine. The game will then tell you how to use Armiger during battle.
Abilities: The Aqesior has two abilities, one of which is the Warp Strike that will be performed when you press R1 and X on the PS4 or the RB and A buttons on the Xbox One at the same time when in Armiger mode. The other ability is the Warp Dodge, which can be done by pressing the L1 and Circle or LB and B buttons simultaneously.
Official Description: Sword that slices through space and time, allowing its wielder to warp at will.
Armiger Weapon #2: Secace
Location: The easiest heirloom that you have to manually find is located on a cliff located just northeast of the Digythe Haven camping site. You can check out the exact location below:Abilities: After acquiring Secace, you will learn how to use Armiger during combat. When you activate that mode, you will see four phantom swords that will assists you by attacking nearby enemies.
Official Description: Storied sword that strikes with waves of resonance. Calls forth the formidable power of the Knightswords.
Armiger Weapon #3: Galatine
Location: Acquiring the third Armiger Weapon is where thing can start to get difficult. The heirloom is located in the Fociaugh Cavern, which is on the southeast area of the map:Before heading there, however, we suggest that you get acclimated with the battle system, grind to level up for a little bit (your levels will increase by fighting battles and then resting on a camp site) in addition to stocking up on a bunch of antidotes and potions. If you haven’t already, we also suggest getting the second Armiger Weapon to unlock Armiger mode.
Inside of the cave, you will get swarmed and surrounded by a bunch of goblins that can inflict poison, which will drain your health down to one health point if you don’t use an antidote. These fights are easily the toughest in the game (aside from fighting Behemoth normally), so make sure you are well leveled and stocked before attempting to enter.
If you are still having trouble, you can try spamming your Armiger abilities, especially Warp Strike early and often. After you run out of MP, you can run away at a safe distance to get it slowly back up again and let your other party members take care of the goblins. Of course, make sure you help your companions once their HP reaches zero or else you will lose them for the entire fight.
Fortunately, the heirloom will literally be right in front of the vision right after you squeeze pass one of the tight passages. With that said, make sure you keep going into the deepest chamber in order to acquire the Ramuh summon, which will be important in getting the fourth and final Armiger Weapon.Ability: With the Galatine in Armiger mode, you can use the Knightshield by holding L1 on the DaulShock 4 or LB on the Xbox One Wireless Controller.
Official Description: Gallant greatsword that cuts through thin air to find its mark. Calls forth the protective power of the Knightshield.
Armiger Weapon #4: Rhongomyniad
You will automatically get the fourth hidden weapon, Rhongomyniad, be beating the Deadeye Behemoth for the first time. Hunting down the gigantic beast is the main quest of Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae. After you tracked his lair, you will be forced to enter into a difficult fight.
With the Ramuh summon, however, you can simply let your HP drop to zero and then hold the X button on DualShock 4 or the A button Xbox One Wireless Controller when prompted to summon Ramuh. Doing so will end the fight in a timely matter. Of course, you can also choose to fight the Behemoth the normal way although that method will take a lot more time.
Ability: With Rhongomyniad, you can use the Knightguard by pressing L1 or LB when you get hit.
Official Description: Lance that nimbly negates damage using displacement. Calls forth the preventive power of the Knightguard.
Activating Armiger Mode in Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae
To activate Armiger, you MP gauge has to be full. Your MP will fill up over time although you can speed up the process by taking cover behind highlighted objects or by warping to a higher ground. To go into that mode, you have to press L1 and R1 at the same time with the PlayStation 4 version as well as the LB and RB with the Xbox One release.
One neat little trick we found was that you can simply hold the square button on the DualShock 4 or the X button on the Xbox One Wireless Controller with Armiger. This will make Noctis automatically attack any nearby enemy and then wrap to the next one after decimating his target.
If you managed to get all four Armiger Weapons, you will be overpowered in Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae. The only single enemy that stands a chance is Behemoth, which you can fight again.
The same weapons will most likely be harder to acquire in the final version of Final Fantasy XV, which currently does not have a release date. You can preorder the full release on Amazon here.
