Holy is a series stable in Final Fantasy. There is a good chance you won’t find it in Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, however, if you aren’t looking in the right places. If you are having trouble find this White Magick spell, you can check out our strategy guide below.
About Holy
When used, this spell will deal heavy Holy elemental damage to a single target. Holy requires a White Magick 11 license, which means that only the White Mage job class can use it by default. The Monk class can also get the same license although it will require the Chaos Esper license.
In the original PS2 game, Holy can be purchased at a shop in Balfonheim Port after the story events that occurred at the Pharos. In The Zodiac Age, however, the spell is only available in a chest.
The Pharos – First Accent
The treasure chest containing the Holy spell can be found in The Pharos – First Ascent. In the first time through the area, there is a puzzle where you have to defeat enemies that emit green flames known as Brainpan in order to build bridges across gaps.
Eventually, on the 3rd and 4th Flights, you will encounter enemies emitting red flames known as Deidar.
In order to advance to the Second Accent of The Pharos, you have to defeat Brainpans and avoid Deidars as the red flame emitting enemies will remove the green bridge pieces when defeated.
Wellspring Ravel – 3rd Flight
Once you get through to the Second Accent, however, you can return to the Wellspring Ravel – 3rd Flight subsection of The Pharos – First Accent to find Holy and other treasures.
To get the treasures, you have to do the opposite of what you have done before, killing Deidar enemies while avoiding the Brainpan enemies at the same time.
In order to get to Holy, you have to build two bridges by killing Deidars. You can check out where the first bridge is with the image located just below this paragraph.
Go across the newly built bridge and turn to the west, there is where the Holy spell chest is located.
If you killed enough of the Deidar enemies, you will be able to access that area. If not, keep killing them while avoiding the Brainpans so that you can build the next bridge in order to go across the small hidden area containing the chest for the elusive Holy spell. You can move back and forth between the 3rd and 4th Flights if you run out of Deidar enemies to kill.
