Sony will be releasing the PlayStation VR Launch Bundle later this October in North America and other regions. While the product comes with everything you need to get started with experiencing virtual reality on Sony’s current-generation system, there are other complementary products we suggest getting to further enhance your time with the VR headset.
PlayStation VR Launch Bundle
First let’s talk about what’s included in the bundle. The most notable of which is the VR headset, which measures at 187 mm in width by 185 in height by 277 mm length in addition to weighing approximately 610g. In terms of features, the virtual reality headset uses a 5.7-inch OLED display of 1920 by RGB by 1080 that provides a less than 18ms in addition to a refresh rate of either 90Hz or 120Hz. While, not as advanced as Occuls Rift and Vive, the PlayStation VR is still quite comparable in quality and will be available at a lower price when compared to the competition.
The other main hardware of the bundle is the processor unit, which is pretty small as it measures at 143 mm by 36 mm by 143 mm while weighing in at around 365g. The unit is designed to provide object-based 3D audio processing in addition to the “social screen” feature, which converts the video feed into a normal video for the television screen.
The pack also comes with the physical disc release of PlayStation VR Worlds, a bundle that contains the following virtual reality experiences: Danger Ball, Into The Deep, Scavenger’s Odyssey, The London Heist and VR Luge.
The rest of the content include a PlayStation Camera, stereo head buds, PlayStation VR Demo Disc, two PlayStation Move motion controllers, HDMI cable, VR headset connection cable, AC adaptor and AC power cord.
