As expected, Electronic Arts will be holding a media event at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo. The EA E3 2015 press conference is set to take place on the 15th of June at 1p.m. PST. The third-party publisher is expected to show off a lot of big AAA games. Below, you can find our list of our most anticipated titles that may appear at the press conference.
5. Criterion’s New IP
Instead of working on a new Burnout, Criterion Games decided to create a completely new I.P., which was shown off at E3 2014. The early footage showed that the studio decided to expand on the concept from the car racing games to include ATVs, jet skis, planes, and other vehicles. The action will also take place from the first-person perspective to mimic the “GoPro” moments. Since its nearly a year since we have seen or heard anything about the upcoming title, we expect Criterion’s New IP to appear the EA’s E3 media briefing.
4. Amy Hennig’s Star Wars
Amy Hennig gain a lot of notoriety for her work in the Legacy of Kain and Uncharted series. She decided to leave Naughty Dog during the middle of the development for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End to join Visceral Games (the studio best known for the Dead Space series) to create a new Star Wars videogame. So, although next to nothing has been revealed for the game so far, its pedigree should please fans of the movies. Hopefully, EA will provide at glimpse at Amy Hennig’s Star Wars during the press conference.
3. Mirror’s Edge Reboot
Electronic Arts officially announced that a reboot of Mirror’s Edge was in development approximately two years ago at E3 2013. It seems like the project is gearing towards completion as the publisher recently announced that it should be released during the first quarter of 2016. The reboot supposedly takes place in a persistently-online open-world city. The combat has been tweaked to remove the usage of guns while adding more melee moves. With more enemy variety, Mirror’s Edge is shaping up to be an excellent follow-up to the already ambitious first game.
2. Star Wars Battlefront
Speaking of Star Wars and reboots, Electronic Arts recently provided the first real glimpse for Star Wars Battlefront. The upcoming game, which is being developed by the same studio behind the mainline Battlefield installments, features massive battles of up to 40 players (on foot, via the ground vehicles and with aircrafts). With the game expected to be one of the biggest releases of this year, you can expect to see a huge gameplay blowout during the Electronic Arts E3 2015 press conference.
You can preorder Star Wars Battlefront, which is coming out on the 17th of November (for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC), with this page on Amazon.
1. Mass Effect 4
It has been three years since Mass Effect 3 concluded the original trilogy and fans can’t wait to see even more from the sci-fi RPG franchise. A video shown at E3 2014 revealed that Bioware is planning to let players explore new locations and encounter new characters in the galaxy. The development team also stated that the iconic Commander Shepard won’t be the main character while confirming the return of the Mako vehicle. With so much more to learn about the game, EA will (hopefully) provide more details at the Electronic entertainment Expo.
Other Game Reveals
There are some other game reveals that fans can expect at the press conference. The potential titles include Plants vs. Zombies 2, which was recently confirmed to come out in early 2016, in addition to various EA Sports videogames such as FIFA 16 and Madden NFL 16. There is also a new Need for Speed installment coming out later this year.
We might even find out more about the new intellectual property in development at Bioware. Last but not least, we could hear more about TitanFall 2 (although it may still be a little too early), which was recently confirmed to be in development for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
As you can see above, Electronic Arts have more than a few games on deck for their media briefing. So make sure you don’t miss out on the press conference at E3 2015.
