It looks like only the PlayStation 4 version of J-Stars Victory Vs+ will be getting a physical disc release in the United States. Major retailers, including Amazon, are exclusively listing the videogame on Sony’s current-gen console.
J-Stars Victory Vs+ first came out for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita on March 19, 2014. Bandai Namco decided to port it to the PS4 as well with the upcoming western release. Based on the listings, however, it appears that the PS3 and Vita version will only be available on the PlayStation Store.
For the uninformed, J-Stars Victory Vs+ is a crossover game featuring many characters from the series that are published in Weekly Shonen Jump. The franchises include Bleach, Dragon Ball, Fist of the North Star, Hunter X Hunter, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, Naruto, One Piece, Rurouni Kenshin, Saint Seiya and YuYu Hakusho. Along with playable characters, there were also be cameos in supported roles.
The inclusion of many anime/manga series led some gamers to believed that the videogame would never be released outside of Japan. Thankfully, it looks like Bandai Namco sorted out all of the potential licensing issues.
J-Stars Victory Vs+ is releasing later this summer on the PS4, PS3 and Vita. You can preorder the disc release of the PlayStation 4 version with this link.
