Update: Xseed has confirmed that the new release date will now be set for Dec. 22.
Amazon has updated the listing for The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel, revealing a new release date. We previously reported that the Japanese role-playing game will be launching on the 17th of November. According to the online retailer, it will now be coming out on 15th of December. The first game of the two-part series is available for preorder with this link.
Although it comes from the same Legend of Heroes franchise as Trails in the Sky, Trails of Cold Steel has a standalone story. As a result, you don’t have to play any of the previous games. The gameplay is somewhat similar to Persona in that you will be able to build relationships during your school life, which will enhance your abilities in combat.
Along with a standard edition, Xseed is also releasing a “Lionheart Edition,” which comes with an art book, 1.5-inch Erebonia pin in addition to a custom collectible clamshell-type box that will hold the videogame as well as the upcoming sequel (expected to launch sometime next year).
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel, as well as The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II, will be released for the PlayStation 3 home console and PlayStation Vita handheld system.
