U.S. release date announced for Steins;Gate on PlayStation 3 and Vita

steins-gate-1Rice Digital has announced the U.S. release date for the PlayStation 3 and Vita ports of Steins;Gate. The critically-acclaimed visual novel is expected to hit both platforms on the 25th of August in North America.

Steins;Gate on PS3 and Vita was previously released on June 5, 2015, in Europe. The translated version features Japanese voice acting with English texts. The original version of the visual novel came out for the Xbox 360 in 2009 before being ported to the PC (an English release of the computer version, which you can purchase with this link on Amazon, was made available in 2014), PSP, iOS, Android in addition to the above-mentioned PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita platforms.

Rice Digital also revealed that, just like the European release, the Steins;Gate El Psy Kongroo Edition will be exclusive to their store. Along with a copy of the game, customers will get a Future Gadget Lab Double Pin Badge Set, Metal Upa Replica, Badge Set and Metal Upa Presentation Box in addition to an 126-page art book containing artwork done for the game. You can check out the limited edition with the following links: PS3 Version and Vita Version.

Despite the lack of exposure in the west, Steins;Gate is considered to be one of the best games from the visual novel genre. So, if you haven’t already, you should check out the PlayStation 3 and Vita versions at launch.
