The Sony Entertainment Store has updated its listing for the PlayStation 4 version of Mortal Kombat X, revealing the download size of the software product. The fighting game will need 33.5 GB of free space on the PS4 HDD. Of course, a physical disc version is also available (you can preorder it from Amazon here) if you don’t feel like downloading that amount of data using your internet connection.
For the uninformed, the PlayStation 4 comes with an internal 500 GB hard drive. However, the system itself needs a portion of the free space. Not to mention all games that came out on the system, including retail disc releases, require mandatory installation. With the prevalence of patch updates to boot, your HDD can fill up quickly.
Thankfully, Sony does allow you to switch out the default hard drive with a new one. You can only use 2.5 inch HDDs although Nyko’s upcoming Data Bank product will be enabling support for 3.5 inch drives (you can check it out on Amazon with this page).
Mortal Kombat X is coming out first for the PlayStation 4 (as well as the PC and Xbox One platforms) on April 14 in the United States territory. The fighting game is also hitting the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 last-gen consoles later in the summer.
