The official Hori shopping website has listed more details for the upcoming Hori Fighting Commander 4. The third-party controller requires the latest firmware on the PlayStation 4 in addition to a system software version of 2.80 or higher on the PlayStation 3.
The product don’t have any inputs for headsets and microphones. As you can see from the picture above, it also won’t support the light bar, motion sensor in addition to inputs from the left analog stick and right analog stick.
Hori also left a note saying that the Hori Fighting Commander 4 is not compatible with the PlayStation, PSOne and PlayStation 2 consoles. While the PlayStation 3 is capable of playing PS2 games, the gamepad is not guaranteed to work in that scenario.
So, if you were planning to buy the Hori Fighting Commander 4, it will be for use with the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in 2D fighting games such as Guilty Gear Xrd Sign, Mortal Kombat X, Ultra Super Street Fighter IV as well as the upcoming Street Fighter V. Amazon currently lists the product with a release date set for May 5 in the U.S. region. If you are interested, you can preorder the fighting pad with this link from the retailer’s website.
