Amazon has revealed the exact release date for the upcoming Vita game, Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders From Planet Space. The enhanced port is expected to be made available starting on the 15th of September. Xseed previously stated that the product would be launching sometime during the autumn time frame. Not to mention that most new videogame releases take place on Tuesdays. So it looks like there may be some legitimacy to the listed release date. For those unfamiliar with the series, your objective is to take out giant invading insects and other aliens from space. Earth Defense Force 2, which was originally available for the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable platforms, is widely considered by fans to be the best installment of the series.
Invaders From Planet Space is being pegged as the definitive version of the game. Sandlot, the original development team, has added a new English voice dub, playable Air Raider class along with the ability to play cooperatively with up to four players online.
In addition to the physical release, Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders From Planet Space will also be available as a digital download from the PlayStation Store.
