It looks like DMC Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition could be getting the collector’s edition treatment on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Amazon updated the pages for both iterations, adding “Standard Edition” to the headline. The ecommerce website does not usually do this unless there is a limited or collector’s edition SKU also being planned and/or sold. You can check out the pages with the next links: PS4 version and Xbox One version.
For the uninformed, the Definitive Edition bumps up to resolution to 1080p and the frame rate to 60 frames per second. The re-release contains all DLC released for the original game, including the Vergil’s Downfall campaign, as well. Also included are the Gods Must Die difficulty level, Hardcore Mode, Must Style Mode, Turbo Mode and Vergil’s Bloody Palace Mode.
DMC Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition is releasing for the PS4 and Xbox One in summer 2015. Capcom is also planning to release Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition on the same current-gen platforms in the future as well. Along with the potential above-mentioned collector’s edition release, it seems like the company is preparing to revive the popular action franchise for this generation. Hopefully, these re-releases will lead to Devil May Cry 5.
