Amazon has put up a product page for The Legend of Zelda Retro Wii U GamePad Protector, revealing the first details on the accessory. If you are interested, you can preorder the protector from the online retailer with this link.
The case is officially licensed by Nintendo and features 8-bit artwork based on the original Zelda game that was released for the NES. In terms of features, the protector, which is made of hard plastic, will help protect both the front and back sides of the controller from dirt, scratches as well as general wear and tear. Users will still have access to all the buttons and ports of the Wii U GamePad in addition to being able to use the protector-installed controller with the official Wii U Charging Cradle. 2016 marks the 30 year anniversary of The Legend of Zelda. Nintendo is commemorating the occasion in a big way as they recently released The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD for the Nintendo Wii U. Hyrule Warriors: Legends is also coming out on the 25th of March while the long awaited next mainline installment in the series, known affectionately by fans as Zelda Wii U, is expected to come out by the end of this year.
