If you haven’t heard already, The Last Guardian was recently delayed until the 6th of December, just four days after the North American launch of another notable first-party PlayStation 4 game, Gravity Rush 2. During a live stream interview with Kinda Funny Games at the GameStop Expo 2016, Dave Thach was asked if Sony have any concerns with releasing both titles so closely together.
The Senior Director of International Software Development & Special Operations at SIE Worldwide Studios America responded by saying that his company isn’t too concern at the moment although “conversations” could happen in the future. You can find his comment below:
Not at the moment. We’re not really looking to moving anything. But, you know, those conversations could happen. I just don’t know at this point.
Dave Thach went on to mention that Final Fantasy XV is scheduled to launch a week before The Last Guardian, which he believes will give a lot of consumers a “bang, bang” holiday season.
Final Fantasy XV will be released on the 29th of November while the aforementioned Gravity Rush 2 is coming out on the 2nd of December. If you are interested, you can preorder the three titles with the following links on Amazon: Final Fantasy XV, Gravity Rush 2 and The Last Guardian.
