The Hori Battle Pad Turbo is designed to mimic a Gamecube controller. With that said, it does have some changes when compared to the official Nintendo product as it comes with a larger directional pad, short stroke L and R shoulder buttons in addition to three turbo settings.
The Battle Pad Turbo requires a Wii Remote to connect to the Nintendo Wii U. Although the gamepad is mainly used for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, it is also compatible with Classic Controller and Classic Controller Pro supported games such as Mario Kart 8 and Super Mario 3D World. The product can be used with most Virtual Console releases as well.
The Link version comes with a logo from the Legend of Zelda in addition to a metallic gold finish. The new variant is expected to come out on the 21st of September in the North American region.
