Is the WWE 2K16 season pass worth buying?

Along with the upcoming videogame, 2K will also be releasing a season pass for WWE 2K16. So is the DLC bundle worth getting if you are planning on purchasing this year’s installment of the WWE 2K series? Let’s take a look at the value of the product, as well as each of the content being included, below.

The WWE 2K16 season pass offers a discount of more than 20 percent off as opposed to buying each individually piece separately. You will also save more money by purchasing the digital deluxe edition, which comes with the downloadable version of the videogame in addition to the season pass. You can check out the current prices for the two aforementioned products with the following links on Amazon: WWE 2K16 Season Pass and WWE 2K16 Digital Deluxe Edition.

One of the DLC included in the pass is the Accelerator, which will grant you instant access to all the unlockable content in WWE 2K16. This unlock key isn’t as valuable as the other packs as you can unlock the playable characters and other items by simply playing the game. What you are really paying for is just to save some time.

New Moves Pack

A more thrilling DLC release is the New Moves Pack, which will be adding over 30 wrestling maneuvers to the game. The attacks include Kevin Owens’s Sidewinder Suplex, Nikki Bella’s Corner Enzuigiri, Stardust’s Standing Crossface Chickenwing and Finn Bálor’s Dragon Sleeper. So, if you like to expand on the move set, you should definitely check out the New Moves Pack.

Future Stars and Legends Packs

Of course, the season pass wouldn’t be complete without the additions of playable wrestlers. WWE 2K16 has two character packs: Future Stars and Legends. The former comes with Blake, Diego, Fernando, Murphy and Samoa Joe. The legends bundle includes Big Boss Man, Dusty Rhodes, Lita, Mr. Perfect, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and Trish Stratus. Depending on your interests on playing as these characters, the Future Stars and Legends Packs may or may not be worth your investment.

2015 Hall of Fame Showcase

The last big item to comes with the season pass is the 2015 Hall of Fame Showcase. This pack includes the following playable matches:

  • Alundra Blayze vs. Paige
  • “Macho Man” Randy Savage vs. Jake “The Snake” Roberts
  • Rikishi vs. The Rock
  • Larry Zbyszko and Arn Anderson vs. Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat and Dustin Rhodes
  • The Bushwhackers (Butch Miller and Luke Williams) vs. The Natural Disasters (Typhoon and Earthquake)
  • The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) vs. Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray)
  • Tatsumi Fujinami vs. Ric Flair

If you are interested in these story-based match-ups, then the 2015 Hall of Fame Showcase Pack should be worth checking out.

Depending on your situation, you may or may not want to purchase the WWE 2K16 season pass. If you are interested in only one of the two major packs, then you are better off buying those DLCs separately. With that said, you should purchase the pass if you want all of the New Moves, Future Stars Legends and 2015 Hall of Fame Showcase Packs. You can do so with this link on Amazon.

For further savings, you can also pick up the digital deluxe edition of WWE 2K16 (if you don’t mind having a digital of the software product) as it comes with the base game in addition to the season pass. You can check out WWE 2K16 Digital Deluxe Edition via this page.WWE 2K16 is launching for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles on October 27th.
