Thanks to Wario64 on Twitter, the file size is now available for the digital release of Grand Theft Auto V on Xbox One. The videogame is going to take up 42.44 GB of space on the hard drive. In comparison, the PlayStation 4 version reportedly takes up around the same amount at 44.9 GB. If you are concerned about bandwidth limits, you can opt to buy the physical disc release, which installs the data from the disc instead of downloading it all from the Xbox store. Preorder the physical release right now on Amazon with this link.
The file size is quite a bit bigger on the Xbox One when compared to the Xbox One version. This is actually not a big surprise since Rockstar was tried to compressed Grand Theft Auto V as much as possible since it requires a hard drive on the Xbox 360. Since the Xbox One comes with a 500 GB hard drive, they don’t need to worry about system compatibility for this gen. Not to mention the developer is adding a lot of new content along with including all of the post-launch updates.
Grand Theft Auto V launches on the Xbox One, and the PlayStation 4 as well, on the 18th of November.
