It looks like Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair will be released later than expected. According to a listing update from Amazon, the action game is now slated to arrive on the 8th of December in the North American region. If you are interested, you can preorder the first EDF game on the PlayStation 4 with this link from the shopping website.
Amazon previously listed a November 3rd launch date. So it appears that the delay won’t end up being too long. The same game came out earlier this year in Japan on the 2nd of April.
For the uninformed, Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair is an enhanced port of Earth Defense Force 2025. The new version ups the resolution to 1080p while increasing the frame rate to 60 per second. It will also come with improved A.I. comrades in addition to having new enemies and vehicles. Along with the single-player mode, Earth Defense Force 4.1 supports up to four players online with nearly 100 missions.
In the EDF series, gamers get to take on monstrous alien invaders. If you enjoy fighting against giant bugs, you might want to check out The Shadow of New Despair when it comes out later this year.
