battleborn newFor the uninformed, Battleborn is a new intellectual property from Gearbox Software, a studio best known for the mainline Borderlands games. The game takes place mainly from a first-person vantage point (players can also switch to a third-person view with certain abilities). It also incorporates a leveling system where participants can gain levels during a match, similar to other multiplayer online battle arena titles. In total, there will be 25 playable characters.

Along with the online multiplayer mode, which supports up to ten players with five versus five team matches, there is also a story mode where gamers can either play alone or cooperatively with friends.

2K Games, the publisher of the software product, will be releasing Battleborn early next year on the 9th of February. If you are a fan of first-person shooters and/or multiplayer online battle arena games, you might want to take a look at the new game a try when it launches.
