It seems like there is one more issue with the collector’s edition of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain as PlayStation 4 gamers are reporting that the code containing all of the in-game bonuses does not include the extras for Metal Gear Online 3.
For the uninformed, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain comes with digital bonuses for both the single-player campaign as well as the upcoming Metal Gear Online 3 mode. When redeemed on the PlayStation Store, the code unlocked all of the items for the campaign but not the bonuses for the multiplayer (which are the AM MRS-4 Gold Assault Rifle, Metal Gear Rex Helmet, WU S. Gold Pistol and XP Boost).
It appears that this issue is only affecting the PlayStation 4 version of the Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain as the Xbox One version comes with two separate codes, one for the campaign and the other for multiplayer.
According to multiple users on NeoGAF, a customer support representative at Konami Digital Entertainment clarified that the code for the PS4 version of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain does indeed come with the promised Metal Gear Online 3 content. Since the multiplayer mode is not currently live, the bonuses aren’t unlocked just yet.
Metal Gear Online has an official launch date set for the 6th of October.
