Along with the Super Mario and the Splatoon lines, Nintendo is planning to launch a fourth wave of Super Smash Bros. Amiibo figures later this May. The lineup features Charizard, Lucina, Greninja, Jigglypuff, Ness, Pac-Man, Robin and Wario. So which of these figurines are worth buying if you are looking to get the most potential usage out of them in the future? Find out in our rakings for the best wave four Super Smash Bros. Amiibo figures below.
5. Ness Amiibo
Nintendo hasn’t published an Earthbound game in nearly a decade (and that was the Japan exclusive Mother 3). The same company also took years just to release the original Super NES videogame on the Virtual Console. As you can probably already tell, Nintendo doesn’t seem too interested in the RPG series aside from making Lucas and Ness playable characters in Super Smash Bros. If you are planning to buy the Ness Amiibo believing that you can get some usage of the figurine in compatible games, you are in for a rude awakening.
With that said, you can still definitely buy the figure for collection purposes. The Ness Amiibo is exclusive to GameStop.
4. Wario Amiibo
Compared to the more popular Nintendo franchise, new games are few and far between new Wario installments. The last game in the brand was Game & Wario, a mini-game compilation that came out for the Wii U in 2013. The latest traditional platformer was Wario Land: Shake It, a 2008 Wii game. Even though his future may not be all that bright, you will be able to use his Amiibo in the Amiibo Party mode in the recnetly-released Mario Party 10.
You can purchase the Wario Amiibo with this page on Amazon.
3. Pac-Man Amiibo
Bandai Namco has established a strong partnership with Nintendo over the past few years. The two worked together with Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. Pokken Tournament is also in development. As for Pac-Man, the brand remains strong thanks to the Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures animated television show and videogames. Not to mention that you can also unlock special aircrafts by using the character’s Amiibo in the recently-released Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy + as well.
You can order the Pac-Man Amiibo here.
2. Lucina and Robin Amiibos
Despite the Fire Emblem Amiibos being some of the rarest figures on the market, Nintendo is providing strong support for these statues. In the newly-available Code Name S.T.E.A.M., you will be able to use the Ike and Marth figures, as well as the upcoming Lucina and Robin, to play as the same characters in the 3DS exclusive. The publisher is also planning to release Fire Emblem X Shin Megami Tensei for the Wii U as well as another Fire Emblem 3DS installment in the future. So there should be plenty of opportunities for using the Lucina and Robin figures.
You can purchase the two Amiibos on Amazon with these next links: Lucina and Robin.
1. Charizard, Greninja and Jigglypuff Amiibos
As popular as Amiibo is, the brand will be even bigger when Nintendo decided to implement the figures into the mainline Pokemon installments. The publisher will most likely start this year with their next annual release. Not to mention that there will be plenty of opportunities when it comes to the spin-off releases like the above-mentioned Pokken Tournament and many more. If you want to get the most usage out of the fourth wave of Super Smash Bros. Amiibo figures, it is a good bet to pick up any, or all, of the Charizard, Greninja and Jigglypuff Amiibos.
The Greninja Amiibo is exclusive to Toys R Us while the Jigglypuff can only be bought at Target. Thankfully, the Charizard Amiibo, which you can purchase on Amazon with this page, will be made available for all major retailers. The wave four Super Smash Bros. Amiibo figures (Charizard, Lucina, Greninja, Jigglypuff, Ness, Pac-Man, Robin and Wario) have a release date set for the 29th of May in the North American region. On the same day, Nintendo is also releasing Splatoon and the Splatoon Amiibos as well. So it looks like that day will be an extremely busy one for Nintendo fans.
