Amazon has updated the preorder pages for Odin Sphere Leifthrasir with a new release date. We previously reported that the game was expected to come out in 2016 on the 12th of April. According to the shopping website, however, it is now slated to arrive on the 7th of June.
Leifthrasir is a remake of the original PlayStation 2 version of Odin Sphere. The new version features high-resolution sprites in addition to 60 frames per second (the original suffered from massive slowdowns). The development team also improved the combat system by using some of the mechanics that were introduced in the spiritual successor, Dragon’s Crown. Last but not least, the new version also comes with new enemies and stages.
Along with the standard edition (which you can check out with this link on Amazon), Atlus will also be releasing a Storybook Edition. The PS4-exclusive limited edition comes with 64-page hardcover art book, collector’s metal case, mystery art print, potion recipe t-shirt and premium outer box. You can preorder Odin Sphere Leifthrasir Storybook Edition, if you are interested, with this page.
The original Odin Sphere is considered to be a cult hit. So, if you missed out on the PS2 version, you might want to take a look at the remake, which is coming out on the aforementioned PS4 as well as the PS3 and Vita.
