Supported games and other audio profiles revealed for the new PlayStation Gold Headset

The Headset Companion App has been updated to version 2.50 to add support for the recently announced new version of the PlayStation Gold Wireless Headset. The application is free to download (from the PlayStation Store) for users of the PlayStation brand of gaming headsets (which includes the PlayStation Platinum, PlayStation Silver, PlayStation Pulse as well as the older version of the PlayStation Gold).

So far, the three games that have custom audio profiles are Horizon: Zero Dawn, MLB The Show 17 and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. There are also profiles are game genres (shooter and fighting), movie (action and horror), music (bass boost, hip hop and techno) as well as general customization options where you can adjust the bass, mid and treble.

The new version of the PlayStation Gold Gaming Headset is designed to fit comfortably with the PlayStation VR headset. It also supports 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound in supported games in addition to having a hidden noise-canceling microphone.
