Adam Boyes, the Vice President of Publisher & Developer Relations at PlayStation, briefly talked more about the benefits of being able to cross play between the PlayStation 4 and PC versions of Street Fighter V. In an interview that occurred on the Twitch live stream during the PlayStation Experience, he said that the fighting game community has been separated into “tiered silos” in the past as gamers on the PlayStation platforms were not able to play with others on non-PlayStation systems.
With cross play in Street Fighter V, however, Adam Boyes believes that cross play will be able to bring the fighting game community together in “one big awesome experience.”
In case you have been living under a rock, the next Street Fighter game is only coming to the PlayStation 4 and the PC. A trailer was leaked ahead of the official announcement, which occurred at the keynote of the PlayStation Experience.
While no Street Fighter V release date has been set, the official press release did mention that an announcement should be coming soon. The first real gameplay demonstration is also being shown on the 13th of December during the Capcom Cup grand finals tournament in San Francisco, CA. If you haven’t already, you can preorder the sequel with this link on Amazon.
