The file sizes have been revealed for the HD remaster of Resident Evil. On the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 side, you will need 14.2 GB of free space. The PlayStation versions support cross-buy, so that you get the game on both consoles for the price of one.
For the Xbox One, 14.68 GB of free space on the hard disk drive is required. Like the PlayStation 4, Microsoft’s current-gen console comes with a 500 GB hard drive. So there should be plenty of space. Unfortuantely for those you have bandwidth concerns, it looks like Capcom won’t be releasing a disc version of Resident Evil unlike what they are doing with Resident Evil Revelations 2.
For the uninformed, the HD port is based on the Gamecube remake of the original Resident Evil that came out in 2012. Capcom upped the resolution to 1080p while adding a widescreen mode (fortunately for old school fans, the original aspect ratio is also available. The audio now support 5.1 surround and a modernized control scheme was also added.
Resident Evil HD releases on the 20th of January in the North American region for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
