Photos and release date on Steelplay’s third-party Gamecube Adapter for Wii U

Another third-party Gamecube Adapter has been listed by Amazon.fr for the Wii U home console. This time, the new accessory is being made by Steelplay. You can find a few photos of the product below this paragraph. As you can see, Steelplay’s version look practically identical to the official Gamecube Adapter manufactured by Nintendo. Using the accessory, you should be able to connect up to four Gamecube controllers to the Wii U. Currently, the only game to support the gamepads are Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

The Gamecube controller has played a big part for the mascot brawling series ever since the release of Super Smash Bros. Melee. Fans also prefer using the same gamepad in Super Smash Bros. Brawl when it came out for the Wii.

Along with the Wii U, the Steelplay Gamecube Adapter can also be used for the PC. It will be released on the 18th of February in France. It is unknown if the same product will be coming out in the United States. For now, American gamers will have to purchase the official adapter or the Mayflash one with the next Amazon.com links: Mayflash GameCube Controller Adapter and Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros.
