Partial nudity, sexual themes and more detailed for the PS3 and Vita releases of Steins;Gate

steins-gate-1

The ESRB has rated the PlayStation 3 and Vita releases of Steins;Gate. Unsurprisingly, the game received a Mature rating, the same as the PC release (which you can purchase on Amazon with this link). There are instances of violent acts being committed in addition to lines of dialogue that contains sexual themes and strong language. It also has a sequence that show partially naked female characters. Check out the rating description below this paragraph:

This is an adventure game in which players follow a narrative involving a time-traveling character. As the storyline unfolds, players make choices that affect the direction of the game’s dialogue and action. Some still-frame cutscenes depict acts of violence: a woman shot in the head; a character stabbed in the chest; a person strangled. Blood stains are depicted on characters’ bodies and clothing. The game contains sexual material in the dialogue and as part of the central character’s inner monologue (e.g., “You can rape her, and then just undo it with the Time Leap Machine,” ‘[S]he’s a flat-chested girl, but still a girl nonetheless,” and “why not taste the same girl’s virginity over and over again.”). In one sequence, two female characters are depicted inside a shower stall covering their breasts and pelvic area; one character’s buttocks is exposed. The words “sh*t” and “p*ssy” appear in the dialogue.

Steins;Gate has been released for the Xbox 360, PC, PSP, iOS and Android platforms along with the above-mentioned PS3 and Vita platforms. PQube is localizing and publishing the visual novel in English for both Europe and North America. An anime adoption of the game also began airing in 2011.

A recent retailer listing revealed that the Steins;Gate would be released on the 10th of April in Europe. Since games are usually released three days earlier in North America, the same title could launch on April 7. The above ESRB rating also indicate that the release is on the horizon.
