As you can see, Xblaze Lost: Memories is still a visual novel experience as the game is going to mainly focus on storytelling. Of course, you will run into important plot points where your decisions will lead to different routes and, ultimately, different endings. With that said, the sequel does have 2D exploration sections where you collect Memory Fragments.
Xblaze Lost: Memories has been available in Japan since the 9th of April. The localized version is slated to come out sometime later this fall in the North American region. According to the above-mentioned listing, the software is expected to arrive sometime during the month of September.
