While LittleBigPlanet 3 is a month away, the ESRB has away gotten their hands of the videogame. The game got a family-friendly “E” rating as it was only dinged for some comic mischief, mild cartoon violence and a reference to tobacco.
We also got some new info on a few of the in-game stickers. Among the awards that can be acquired include a “smoking pipe” reference, which may lead to the above-mentioned tobacco discretion by the ESRB. The two other stickers mentioned are a “No Heavy Petting” one featuring a cat weighing one ton and a “No Nudity” label that has Sackboy covering his crotch. The details for the rating are located below this paragraph.
This is a side-scrolling platformer game in which players assume the role of sack characters on a quest to stop a villain’s plan. Players traverse through colorful environments, avoid hazards (e.g., fire, electricity) and use special powers to defeat “cartoony” enemies. Players can also jump on enemies heads and/or redirect them into hazards; enemies generally pop/disappear amid mild explosions when defeated. In-game stickers/awards contain occasional slapstick humor: a “No Heavy Petting” sticker depicts a one ton cat; a “No Nudity” sticker depicts a sack figure covering its crotch. One sticker includes a “smoking pipe.”
LittleBigPlanet 3 is hitting the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 on the 18th of November. Sony is offering several preorder bonuses but only for the next-gen version. If you haven’t already, you can pre-purchase the videogame on Amazon with this link.
