A new firmware has been released for the HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset. The new update enables PlayStation 4 compatibility with the USB sound card. Previously only fully compatible with the PC, the dongle is used for 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound in addition to adjusting the audio and volume levels.
You can download the HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset firmware update on the official HyperX website with this link. To update, you first have to detach the USB sound card from the headset and then plug the dongle into a PC that has the Windows 10, 8.1, 8 or 7 operating systems. Launch the updater that you downloaded and then follow the on-screen instructions to update the firmware.
The PlayStation 4 has some notable games that support 7.1 surround sound. The compatible titles include Batman Arkham Knight, Bloodborne, Far Cry 4, Final Fantasy XIV, Horizon: Zero Dawn, inFamous: Second Son, MLB: The Show 17, Ratchet and Clank, The Last Guardian, The Last of Us Remastered, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, Until Dawn and Watch Dogs 2.
