Hori Turbo Battle Pads for Wii U get Japanese packaging, more images and release date

Amazon.jp has updated the pages for the Mario and Luigi Hori Turbo Battle Pads for Wii U with some new images, including the packaging for both controllers. Compared to the American packages (which you can find here), the Japanese ones have more imposing poses. Also shown are some images of the big directional pad as well as the turbo configurations. Pre-order the two American releases right now on Amazon – Hori Battle Pad for Wii U (Mario Version) with Turbo and Hori Battle Pad for Wii U (Luigi Version) with Turbo. The new photos are located below this paragraph.

The officially-licensed controllers are designed mainly for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. Along with the big directional pad, it also comes with three different turbo settings. The shoulder buttons use short stork presses instead of the springs from the original Gamecube pads.

The Hori Turbo Battle Pads can also be used with other games supported by the Classic Controller and Classic Controller Pro along with compatible Virtual Console games. A Wii Remote is required to be able to connect to the Wii U.

In Japan, both the Mario and Luigi versions are launching on the 6th of December, the same day as the Japanese release of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. The controllers, as well as the videogame, is coming out in the 21st of November in the United States. If you haven’t already, pre-purchase the fighting game right now with this link.
