Hidetaka Miyazaki, the director behind Bloodborne, was interviewed in the latest issue of Edge. One of the questions that was asked was about the importance of online elements in the upcoming PS4 exclusive.
Miyazaki admitted that it was a touch question to answer as he described that playing offline is a choice made by players who can’t connect online for one reason or another. With that said, he believed that they aren’t missing out on anything critical even though the development team did design Bloodborne so that gamers can have many unique online experiences. He concluded that he would like his upcoming game to be play online, if possible.
For the uninformed, Bloodborne is similar to the Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls videogames in that you can play cooperative and/or be invaded by others under special circumstances. You can also see special messages as well as apparitions left by other players. A PlayStation Plus subscription is required to access a majority of the online features in the PS4 exclusive.
Hidetaka Miyazaki and his team is getting ready to launch Bloodborne exclusively on the PlayStation 4 console on March 24 in North America. If you haven’t already, you can preorder the highly-anticipated game on Amazon with this page.
