The Sony Entertainment Store listing for Grim Fandango Remastered has been updated with new info on the file size. The PlayStation 4 version is going to take up 4.5 GB on your hard disk drive (the same product is also listed on the PC web store front of the SEN Store at 4.2 GB), which is not too bad considering that every system comes with a 500 GB internal HDD pre-installed.
Grim Fandango Remastered was a surprise announcement at E3 2014. Sony worked together with Double Fine Productions to resolve a licensing issue that was holding back a re-release previously. Due to that partnership, the videogame is only coming to the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita and PC.
The new improvements for the remastered version include the addition of dynamic lighting, reworked high-resolution character textures, developer commentary and a fully orchestrated soundtrack. Grim Fandango Remastered is launching on the 27th of January on the three above-mentioned platforms. There are currently no plans to do a physical disc release at this time; so the only way to buy the game is through the digital download route.
The partnership between Double Fine and Sony does not end there either. Broken Age and Day of the Tentacle Special Edition will eventually be released on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in the future as well.
