German box art for Pokken Tournament contains several changes has revealed the German box art for the upcoming Pokken Tournament. You can check out the cover, and compared it to the Japanese box art, below this paragraph.Pokemon TournamentPokken Tournament JapanAs you can see above, the German cover contains some changes. The biggest of which is the game’s name. Instead of being called Pokken Tournament, the software product will be referred to as Pokemon Tournament in Germany. This is apparently due to “pokken” sounding like “pocken,” the German word for smallpox.

The included Shadow Mewtwo Amiibo Card is also advertised heavily in the cover of the European release. When used with the Wii U Gamepad, the card will grant early access to the alternate form of Mewtwo as a playable character.

For the uninitiated, Pokken Tournament is a fighting game spin-off based on the Pokemon franchise featuring pocket monsters such as Charizard, Lucario, Pikachu and the above-mentioned Mewtwo. It is being developed by Bandai Namco Entertainment, the same company behind the popular Tekken series.

The upcoming release will be launching exclusively for the Nintendo Wii U home console on the 18th of March in the North American region. If you are interested, you can preorder Pokken Tournament for Nintendo’s console on by using this link.
