First supported games and audio modes revealed for PlayStation 4 Platinum Wireless Headset

The Headset Companion App has been updated to 2.00. The new version adds support for the upcoming PlayStation 4 Platinum Wireless Headset.

It appears that, at launch, the headset will feature audio modes (which were tuned specifically by development studios of each game) for MLB: The Show 16, The Last Guardian, Watch Dogs 2 and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. There are also the shooter and fighting presets for general gaming genres, horror and action for movies as well as bass boost, techno and hip hop for music. Last but not least, users can create up to three different custom modes as they can change the bass, mid and treble options.

For the uninformed, the upcoming PlayStation 4 Platinum Wireless Headset features 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound with full 3D audio support. In addition to the PS4, the accessory is also compatible with the PlayStation VR headset as well as any other device that uses the 3.5mm audio cable.

Sony will be releasing the PlayStation 4 Platinum Wireless Headset in January of 2017 for the North American region. So, if you want to experience 3D Audio and 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound for the aforementioned games, then you might want to take a look at the upcoming headset.
