The file size has been revealed for the PlayStation 4 version of Doom. According to the listing from the PlayStation Store shopping website, the first-person shooter is going to take up 43.8 GB of free space from the hard disk drive. When view directly from the PS4, the storefront shows a slightly higher requirement of 47 GB.
Along with a digital release, Doom can also be bought in physical form. If you are interested, you can purchase the two disc versions with the following links: Standard Edition and Collector’s Edition.
As you can see above, Doom is going to be a massive game in terms of size. The development team at id Software has confirmed that the single-player campaign should take a least a dozen hours to beat, which could balloon to an even bigger number if you are playing on a higher difficulty and/or want to find everything. There is also an extensive multiplayer section including a mode where you can create your own game types and maps and share them with others.
If you don’t have enough space for Doom, you can replace the internal HDD of the PS4 with one that is capable of holding a bigger capacity. If you are interested, we recommend getting the OWC DIY 2.0TB Drive Upgrade Bundle for the PlayStation 4 (you can do so via this page).
