ESRB’s Teen rating explained for Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown

The Entertainment Software Rating Board’s has revealed its summary for Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown. The air combat game ended up with a Teen rating due to contents categorized as Language, Mild Blood and Violence. There are also warnings for user interactions as well as in-game purchases. This is a flight combat simulator in which players follow the story of a young prisoner, while reenacting a variety of combat missions. From a third-person perspective, players control planes as they engage in aerial dogfights, assault ground targets (e.g., anti-aircraft guns, oil fields, silos), and destroy enemy bases. Players use missiles, machine guns, and bombs to destroy targets in realistic, frenetic combat. Battles are highlighted by frequent gunfire explosions, radio chatter, and explosions. One cutscene briefly depicts a pilot with small amounts of blood splattered on her helmet after a crash. The word “sh*t” appears in the dialogue.
