ESRB reveals rating summary for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

The Entertainment Software Rating Board has revealed its rating summary for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The Nintendo Switch version of the arcade racing game ended up with an E (for Everyone) rating due to comic mischief. You can find the full rating description of the latest Mario Kart installment below:

This is a kart-racing game in which players compete with characters from the Mario universe. As players race against other drivers, they can use whimsical power-ups (e.g., turtle shells, fireballs, boomerangs) to impede opponents’ progress and knock enemies off the tracks. Colorful explosions and dizzy stars accompany the action. Some events allow players to toss “cartoony” bombs at opponents in order to knock them out of the event.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe features all the tracks and characters, including those that were released as DLC, from the Wii U version. It also adds new battle modes, battle maps as well as several new characters (Bowser Jr., Dry Bones, Inkling Boy, Inkling Girl and King Boo).

Nintendo will be releasing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for the Switch on the 28th of April in the North American region. If you are interested, you can preorder the physical version of the latest Mario Kart game with this link on Amazon.
